Ciremai Mountain Coffee
It is undeniable that at the foot of Mount Ciremai there are colonial-heritage coffee plants planted from 1930 to 1941.
The plants thrive when Ciremai Mountain was still in the status of production forests managed by the Perhutani Forestry Unit of the Kuningan Forest Management Unit and Majalengka KPH from 1978 to 2003.
We know, since 2004 Mount Ciremai has a national park status. Well, of course, the coffee plant is not by the function of the national park area. Because coffee is a plantation and not a forestry plant.
Officers often feel troubled by the presence of coffee in the Mount Ciremai National Park (TNGC).
Hmm, even now the coffee is labeled Ciremai coffee which is often a filler "booth" Balai TNGC in several exhibitions and festivals.
Kopi gunung ciremai
Memang tak dipungkiri pada kaki-kaki gunung Ciremai terdapat tanaman kopi warisan kolonial yang ditanam sejak 1930 sampai 1941.
Tanaman tersebut semakin tumbuh subur tatkala dulu gunung Ciremai masih berstatus hutan produksi yang dikelola Perum Perhutani Kesatuan Pemangkuan Hutan (KPH) Kuningan dan KPH Majalengka pada 1978 sampai 2003.
Kita tahu, sejak 2004 gunung Ciremai berstatus taman nasional.
