Gw mau ngajak lo mikir sebentar. Kapan terakhir kali lo ke rumah sakit? Atau kapan terakhir kali lo ngerasain betapa repotnya ngurus administrasi di sana?
Pasti lo inget. Antri. Nunggu. Isi formulir. Kasih KTP. Kasih kartu BPJS. Dokter tanya ini itu. Terus akhirnya dikasih resep, bayar, pulang.
Tapi pernah nggak lo mikir, ke mana semua data lo itu perginya?
Nama lo, tanggal lahir, alamat, riwayat penyakit lo, alergi lo, obat-obatan yang pernah lo minum, hasil lab lo—semua itu ada di suatu sistem. Disimpan. Dikelola. Dan kalau sistem itu kenapa-napa?
Bukan cuma data lo yang hilang. Tapi pelayanan kesehatan lo bisa terhambat. Dan di dunia medis, keterlambatan itu bisa berarti nyawa.
Gw mau cerita tentang ini. Tentang keamanan data di rumah sakit. Bukan dari sudut pandang teknisi IT yang pake istilah-istilah rumit. Tapi dari sudut pandang orang yang sadar bahwa data kesehatan itu lebih berharga daripada data kartu kredit.
Rumah Sakit Itu Sekarang Kayak Sistem Saraf Manusia
Dulu, rumah sakit itu cuma gedung. Ada dokter, ada perawat, ada pasien, ada obat. Semuanya fisik. Tapi sekarang? Rumah sakit itu adalah ekosistem digital.
Bayangin. Ada Rekam Medis Elektronik yang nyimpen semua riwayat kesehatan pasien. Ada SIMRS yang ngatur semua operasional—dari pendaftaran sampe billing. Ada sistem laboratorium, sistem radiologi, sistem farmasi. Semua nyambung satu sama lain.
Ini kayak sistem saraf manusia. Semua bagian saling terhubung. Kalau satu bagian rusak, yang lain ikut kena.
Dan di balik semua itu, ada data. Data pasien yang jumlahnya bisa puluhan ribu. Data yang sangat pribadi. Data yang kalau bocor, nggak bisa diganti kayak kartu kredit.
Kartu kredit yang dicuri bisa dibatalkan. Tapi rekam medis yang bocor itu permanen. Sepanjang hidup lo, data itu ada di luar sana. Bisa dipake buat hal-hal yang nggak lo bayangin.
Kenapa Data Rumah Sakit Jadi Incaran?
Gw sering mikir, kenapa sih hacker mau ngeretas rumah sakit? Bukannya lebih gampang ngeretas bank atau e-commerce?
Ternyata data kesehatan itu adalah "tambang emas" buat pelaku kejahatan siber. Kenapa?
Pertama, data kesehatan itu sangat lengkap. Ada nama, alamat, tanggal lahir, nomor KTP, riwayat medis, bahkan data genetik. Itu semua bisa dipake buat pencurian identitas yang lebih canggih.
Kedua, data kesehatan itu nggak bisa diubah. Kalau kartu kredit lo dicuri, lo bisa blokir dan minta kartu baru. Tapi kalau riwayat medis lo bocor, lo nggak bisa minta "riwayat medis baru". Data itu akan terus ada.
Ketiga, rumah sakit adalah target yang "lunak". Mereka lebih fokus ke pelayanan pasien daripada ke keamanan siber. Dan dalam situasi darurat, mereka lebih milih bayar tebusan daripada kehilangan akses ke data pasien.
Ini yang bikin ransomware jadi ancaman serius buat rumah sakit. Hacker ngunci sistem, minta tebusan, dan rumah sakit yang panik biasanya bayar. Karena nyawa pasien lebih berharga daripada uang tebusan.
Tapi masalahnya, bayar tebusan nggak menjamin data lo balik. Banyak kasus di mana setelah bayar, data tetap hilang atau malah dijual lagi di darkweb.
Yang Terjadi Kalau Sistem Rumah Sakit Kolaps
Gw mau lo bayangin skenario ini.
Seorang pasien datang ke UGD. Kondisinya darurat. Butuh penanganan cepat.
Tapi sistem komputer rumah sakit lagi down. Rekam medis pasien nggak bisa diakses. Dokter nggak tahu riwayat alergi pasien. Nggak tahu obat apa yang pernah diminum. Nggak tahu apakah pasien punya penyakit bawaan.
Dokter harus mengambil keputusan tanpa informasi lengkap. Risiko kesalahan jadi lebih tinggi.
Ini bukan cerita fiksi. Ini sudah terjadi di berbagai rumah sakit di dunia. Serangan siber yang melumpuhkan sistem, dan pasien yang jadi korban.
Nggak cuma itu. Efeknya berantai:
- Pendaftaran pasien lumpuh. Orang nggak bisa daftar, antrian makin panjang.
- Dokter nggak bisa akses riwayat medis. Diagnosis jadi lambat dan kurang akurat.
- Laboratorium dan farmasi nggak bisa proses permintaan. Obat nggak keluar, tes nggak jalan.
- Klaim asuransi terhenti. Rumah sakit nggak bisa bayar operasional.
Semua ini terjadi dalam hitungan menit setelah sistem down. Dan dampaknya terasa langsung ke pasien.
Ini yang bikin gw berpikir: keamanan siber rumah sakit itu bukan urusan IT. Ini urusan keselamatan pasien.
Firewall Saja Nggak Cukup
Banyak orang berpikir keamanan siber itu cuma soal firewall, antivirus, dan enkripsi. Tapi sebenernya lebih dari itu.
Ada tiga pilar utama dalam keamanan informasi. Istilah kerennya CIA Triad:
- Confidentiality (Kerahasiaan): Data cuma bisa diakses oleh orang yang berhak.
- Integrity (Keutuhan): Data harus akurat dan nggak boleh diubah tanpa izin.
- Availability (Ketersediaan): Data dan sistem harus tersedia saat dibutuhkan.
Tiga pilar ini harus jalan bersamaan. Kalau cuma satu yang lemah, sistemnya nggak aman.
Dan yang sering dilupakan: keamanan itu tentang manusia dan proses, bukan cuma teknologi.
Gw pernah denger cerita tentang rumah sakit yang punya sistem keamanan canggih. Firewall-nya mahal. Enkripsinya kuat. Tapi karyawannya masih nulis password di sticky note. Atau masih sharing akun.
Teknologi secanggih apapun nggak akan berguna kalau manusianya jadi titik lemah.
Regulasi yang Mulai Mengikat
Untungnya, pemerintah mulai serius soal ini. Ada beberapa regulasi yang mewajibkan rumah sakit buat menjaga data pasien:
- UU Nomor 27 Tahun 2022 tentang Perlindungan Data Pribadi (UU PDP): Ini yang paling penting. Rumah sakit wajib melindungi data pasien. Kalau melanggar, ancaman dendanya besar.
- UU Nomor 17 Tahun 2023 tentang Kesehatan: Menegaskan kewajiban menjaga kerahasiaan medis di era digital.
- PP 28 Tahun 2024: Peraturan pelaksanaan yang lebih spesifik tentang keamanan data di ekosistem kesehatan.
Ini sinyal yang jelas: negara nggak main-main soal data kesehatan. Pengabaian terhadap keamanan data adalah pengabaian terhadap hak pasien.
Tapi regulasi saja nggak cukup. Implementasi di lapangan yang lebih penting. Rumah sakit harus punya Sistem Manajemen Keamanan Informasi (SMKI) yang bener. Bukan cuma dokumen, tapi budaya yang hidup.
Detak Jantung Pemantauan
Salah satu hal yang menarik buat gw adalah pemantauan real-time. Rumah sakit sekarang bisa memantau aktivitas mencurigakan di sistem mereka secara langsung.
Kayak gimana? Contohnya, monitoring query database. Kalau biasanya query database selesai dalam 20 detik, tapi tiba-tiba ada query yang butuh 40 detik atau lebih, itu bisa jadi indikasi ada yang nggak beres.
Bisa jadi itu serangan, bisa jadi itu kesalahan sistem, bisa jadi itu sesuatu yang lain. Tapi dengan pemantauan, tim IT bisa bertindak cepat sebelum masalah membesar.
Ini kayak detak jantung buat sistem rumah sakit. Selalu dipantau. Selalu diukur. Kalau ada anomali, langsung direspon.
Menurut gw, ini adalah investasi yang sangat penting. Bukan cuma buat keamanan, tapi buat kepercayaan pasien. Pasien harus tahu bahwa data mereka dijaga dengan serius.
Yang Bisa Kita Lakukan
Gw sadar, nggak semua dari kita adalah orang IT atau manajemen rumah sakit. Tapi kita semua adalah pasien. Atau suatu saat akan jadi pasien. Dan kita semua punya data kesehatan.
Beberapa hal yang bisa kita lakukan sebagai pasien:
- Tanyakan ke rumah sakit bagaimana mereka melindungi data kita.
- Jangan sembarangan memberi data ke pihak yang nggak jelas.
- Perhatikan transparansi dari penyedia layanan kesehatan.
- Kalau ada insiden kebocoran data, tuntut kejelasan dan pertanggungjawaban.
Dan buat yang bekerja di rumah sakit, jadilah bagian dari solusi. Bukan bagian dari masalah. Jangan jadi orang yang nulis password di sticky note. Jangan jadi orang yang sharing akun.
Karena keamanan data adalah tanggung jawab bersama.

Di akhir tulisan ini, gw mau ninggalin satu pertanyaan. Bukan buat dijawab sekarang. Tapi buat direnungkan.

Entahlah. Mungkin jawabannya belum. Mungkin masih banyak yang harus diperbaiki. Tapi setidaknya kita mulai sadar.
Sadar bahwa data kesehatan itu bukan sekadar angka di layar. Itu adalah bagian dari diri seseorang. Dan melindunginya adalah bagian dari melindungi nyawa.

You know the drill. Queue. Wait. Fill out forms. Give your ID. Give your insurance card. The doctor asks you this and that. Then finally you get a prescription, pay, and leave.
But have you ever stopped to think, where does all your data go?
Your name, date of birth, address, medical history, allergies, medications you've taken, lab results—all of it is in some system. Stored. Managed. And if something happens to that system?
It's not just your data that's lost. It's your healthcare services that could be disrupted. And in the medical world, delays can mean lives.
I want to talk about this. About data security in hospitals. Not from the perspective of an IT specialist throwing around technical jargon. But from the perspective of someone who realizes that health data is more valuable than credit card data.
Hospitals Are Now Like the Human Nervous System
In the past, hospitals were just buildings. There were doctors, nurses, patients, medicine. Everything was physical. But now? Hospitals are digital ecosystems.
Imagine. There's an Electronic Medical Record system that stores all patient health histories. There's a Hospital Information System that manages everything from registration to billing. There are laboratory systems, radiology systems, pharmacy systems. All connected to each other.
It's like the human nervous system. All parts are interconnected. If one part breaks, the others are affected.
And behind all of this, there's data. Patient data that numbers in the tens of thousands. Data that is extremely personal. Data that, if leaked, cannot be replaced like a credit card.
A stolen credit card can be canceled. But leaked medical records are permanent. For the rest of your life, that data is out there. It can be used for things you never imagined.
Why Is Hospital Data a Target?
I often think, why would hackers target hospitals? Isn't it easier to hack banks or e-commerce sites?
Turns out health data is a "gold mine" for cybercriminals. Why?
First, health data is very comprehensive. There's name, address, date of birth, ID number, medical history, even genetic data. All of this can be used for more sophisticated identity theft.
Second, health data can't be changed. If your credit card is stolen, you can block it and get a new one. But if your medical history is leaked, you can't ask for a "new medical history." That data will always exist.
Third, hospitals are "soft" targets. They focus more on patient care than on cybersecurity. And in emergencies, they'd rather pay a ransom than lose access to patient data.

And it's not just that. The effects are cascading:
- Patient registration grinds to a halt. People can't register, queues get longer.
- Doctors can't access medical histories. Diagnoses become slow and less accurate.
- Laboratories and pharmacies can't process requests. Medicine doesn't get dispensed, tests don't get done.
- Insurance claims are halted. Hospitals can't pay for operations.
All of this happens within minutes after the system goes down. And the impact is felt directly by patients.
This is what makes me think: hospital cybersecurity isn't an IT issue. It's a patient safety issue.
Firewalls Alone Aren't Enough
Many people think cybersecurity is just about firewalls, antivirus, and encryption. But it's actually more than that.
There are three main pillars in information security. The fancy term is CIA Triad:
- Confidentiality: Data can only be accessed by authorized people.
- Integrity: Data must be accurate and cannot be changed without permission.
- Availability: Data and systems must be available when needed.
These three pillars must work together. If only one is weak, the system isn't secure.
And what's often forgotten: security is about people and processes, not just technology.
I once heard a story about a hospital that had sophisticated security systems. Expensive firewalls. Strong encryption. But staff still wrote passwords on sticky notes. Or still shared accounts.

But regulations alone aren't enough. Implementation on the ground is more important. Hospitals must have a proper Information Security Management System (ISMS). Not just documents, but a living culture.
The Heartbeat of Monitoring
One interesting thing to me is real-time monitoring. Hospitals can now monitor suspicious activity in their systems directly.
How? For example, database query monitoring. If a database query normally completes in 20 seconds, but suddenly there's a query that takes 40 seconds or more, that could be an indication that something's wrong.
It could be an attack, it could be a system error, it could be something else. But with monitoring, the IT team can act quickly before the problem escalates.
This is like a heartbeat for the hospital system. Always monitored. Always measured. If there's an anomaly, immediately responded to.
In my opinion, this is a very important investment. Not just for security, but for patient trust. Patients need to know that their data is taken seriously.
What We Can Do
I realize, not all of us are IT professionals or hospital management. But we are all patients. Or will be patients someday. And we all have health data.
A few things we can do as patients:
- Ask the hospital how they protect our data.
- Don't give data carelessly to unclear parties.
- Pay attention to transparency from healthcare providers.
- If there's a data breach incident, demand clarity and accountability.
And for those working in hospitals, be part of the solution. Not part of the problem. Don't be the person who writes passwords on sticky notes. Don't be the person who shares accounts.
Because data security is a shared responsibility.
A Question We Must Ask
At the end of this piece, I want to leave one question. Not to be answered now. But to be pondered.
"Have we built a strong enough fortress to protect the trust that patients have placed in us?"
I don't know. Maybe the answer is no. Maybe there's still much to fix. But at least we're starting to realize.
