Rosella dan Keheningan: Ritual Sederhana untuk Tetap Waras
Ada masanya kita ngopi bukan buat melek, tapi buat pura-pura punya kendali atas hidup. Serius. Lalu ketemulah... rosella.
Rosella, si bunga kering merah merona, awalnya cuma gue kira tanaman penghias rak toko herbal. Ternyata, dia lebih dari sekadar garnish. Rasanya asem—nggak seimut tampilannya.
1. Jangan nyeduh rosella pas kamu lagi terburu-buru. Nanti malah kesel sendiri. Ini ritual slow, bukan kopi to-go.
2. Coba tambah irisan jahe atau madu sedikit. Biar rasa "tanah asam"-nya nggak terlalu galak. Tapi jangan lebay juga, nanti jadi mocktail, bukan meditasi.
3. Minum sambil denger suara kipas atau hujan. Beneran deh, itu kombinasi yang bikin sadar kalau kamu masih manusia, bukan bot Zoom.
4. Jangan sambil scrolling. Serius. Kamu nggak akan nyadar udah abis minumnya. Sayang banget momen diamnya keburu dilahap TikTok.
5. Tulis satu kalimat setelah minum. Boleh curhat, boleh puisi, boleh “aku capek”. Biar rosella jadi awal, bukan akhir.
Ya udah, segitu dulu. Gue bukan herbalis, bukan dokter, apalagi influencer wellness.

Rosella and Silence: A Simple Ritual to Stay Sane
Sometimes we drink coffee not to wake up, but to pretend we’re still in control. Like a small ritual in the chaos of notifications, Zoom calls, and that elementary school group chat that only comes alive during work hours. Lately, I’ve been looking for an alternative. Something that doesn’t make my heart run a marathon. Then I found... rosella.
Rosella, that deep red dried flower, looked like a decorative prop at a herbal store. But turns out, it’s more than just cute tea. It’s sour—way less friendly than its appearance. But that’s what gives it personality. Not your shy floral tea, rosella is like a friend who pokes you and says, “Hey, slowed down today yet?”
People drink it for all sorts of reasons—immunity, digestion, detox. But for me, rosella is for... stillness. For straightening your back, taking a breath, and realizing time doesn’t always have to be in a rush.
Picture this: you’re sitting, phone in airplane mode, rosella in your hand. It’s dark red, sharply sour, but it grounds you. Maybe we don’t need to always be productive. Maybe we just need to sit. With ourselves. With rosella.
Funny thing, there’s some science behind this stillness. According to a study in the Journal of Medicinal Plants Research, hibiscus tea (Hibiscus sabdariffa) has mild calming effects thanks to anthocyanins and organic acids. Not enough to knock you out, but just enough to ease off the gas pedal a bit.
But don’t expect elven magic. It’s not a miracle brew. It tastes like angry dirt soaked in lemon. But if you stick with it, it’s not about taste anymore. It’s about space. Space to breathe. Space to pause.
In a world screaming for attention, sometimes the most human act of resistance is silence. And rosella, somehow, becomes a medium for that. A nudge reminding you it’s okay to go slow. You’re not behind, you’re breathing.
If you’re curious and don’t know where to start, here are a few absurd but real tips from my own experiments:
1. Don’t brew rosella when you’re in a hurry. You’ll end up mad. This is slow tea, not commuter coffee.
2. Add some ginger or a drop of honey. It softens the “acidic dirt” vibe. But don’t go too far or you’ll turn it into a cocktail.
3. Drink while listening to a fan or rain. Trust me, it helps you remember you’re human. Not a bot on Zoom.
4. Don’t scroll while sipping. Seriously. You’ll finish the cup without realizing. You’ll miss the point.
5. Write one sentence afterward. Could be a rant, a poem, or just “I’m tired.” Let rosella start something, not end something.
That’s all from me. I’m not a herbalist, a doctor, or a wellness influencer. Just someone tired of machine noise and craving a quiet corner. If you’re looking for a little silence that’s not too complicated, rosella might be your pal.
If you’ve tried it—or have your own strange ritual—drop it in the comments. Let’s build a weird-but-wholesome survival kit together. Cheers, and happy stillness.
